This small strawberry is grown in Sciacca and Ribera, two small towns near the sea in the province of Agrigento.
It is called “the queen” because it gets a lot of attention. In fact, it’s very delicate and is hand picked one by one, in a single harvest. As it is difficult to transport, it is made into a jam within a few hours of harvesting.
It is preserved by the Slow Food movement, making this a real treasure to discover.
